Adastra’s field engineering team is spearheaded by a group of expert network engineers with varying technical qualifications including MCSE, MCDBA, CCA and CCEA. There are also specialist engineers who focus on mobile data solutions and voice recorders. In all there are some 40 staff within the Technical Services Department.

Training

There is heavy emphasis in Adastra on staff training and development. Our engineers cannot keep in step with evolving technology unless they are supported in learning and applying new technologies and new releases of core infrastructural software.

Cost Efficiency

We argue to good effect that there is a clear economic benefit in running a stable operation based on a resilient and functional IT capability all drawn from the same source supplier. That much is common sense. But there are also more tangible savings in using Adastra for hardware/network support as well as for the core software product.

This is because we have always recognised that if a customer is already contributing to our software support revenue stream, it would not be reasonable to apply a separate revenue flow to hardware support without being prepared to regulate it. Customer services which use Adastra for the support of their IT infrastructure will therefore pay a heavily discounted recurrent support charge for their Adastra software licenses.

Sourcing and Pricing Equipment

In supplying hardware and networking equipment to its customers Adastra offers much added-value help in defining configuration and specification. We do after all have the clearest picture of what the most suitable server and desktop configuration is to run Adastra and other component applications.

For the Dell servers and workstations which tend to comprise the bulk of any system requirement, we sell to our customers at the standard discounted Government rate applied by Dell.
