Adastra has now been supplying integrated IT solutions (ie software, hardware and network infrastructure) to its customer services for more than ten years.

We recognised from our inception as a commercial business that mission-critical urgent care services would require an IT infrastructure within which all components fit neatly together – a common and consistent operational platform. That is what we strive to deliver with our Technical Services Department.

A Concentrated Solution

The simple proposition is that our customers are best served by having the key components of their IT capability delivered and supported by a single source. That way, if there are problems, customers know where to turn. There is no need to worry whether some obscure malfunction is rooted in software, network or hardware. That is down to Adastra to diagnose. And neither do customers risk the unseemly spectacle of having different suppliers blame each other without really knowing the origin of any given problem. Urgent care services are too important to be compromised by such pass-the-parcel antics.

Out-of-Hours Focus

A key strength of Adastra’s hardware and network engineering resource is that it is exclusively focused on the out-of-hours environment. We know that is when our customers are operational, and when their dependence on IT capability is at its most critical. Our services are geared on providing support in an operational setting likely to be most stretched on the third and fourth day of Christmas, or over a weekend in an influenza outbreak. 9-5 support is the least of what we do.

We invest in technical research – that is the central role of our Technical Services Director Anthony Hayes and his research colleagues. Yet we also recognise that our customers must not be exposed in their critical delivery setting to technologies that are still unproven. Our exploration of new products and technologies is therefore thorough and professional. It should never be rushed.
