Adastra’s software products have evolved over 13 years of intense involvement in the GP out-of-hours environment. Over that period the Company has remained uniquely focused on NHS urgent care, and we are widely recognised to represent an unrivalled source of domain knowledge and experience.


Now approaching the end of a second ground-up re-write process (the last in 1996), the Adastra core-product provides NHS urgent care services with a remarkably sophisticated operational event management and clinical recording tool.

A key characteristic of the software is its versatility. Adastra understood from the outset of its involvement with the GP Co-operative movement in the early 90s that these services were all different not just in size and shape, but also in the service mix, operational structure and in their reporting and accounting requirements. Accordingly there has always been heavy emphasis on user definability.

As we now move towards a new generation of multi-disciplinary and 24hr operational hub services, the need for systems versatility is emphasised still further. The modern Adastra is more than a mere operational tool. It serves as the axis around which provider operations are building a network of integrated services with interoperable systems. With Adastra, the real-time support of the Patient Journey is no longer a distant dream. It is rapidly becoming an achievable reality.

 

Version 3
